Most Altima models are outfitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Rated at a respectable 182 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, the base four-banger is coupled with a continuously variable transmission.

Packing considerably more heat, however, is the Altima's optional engine upgrade, a 3.5-liter V6. Available across the model range, this V6 makes a meaty 270 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque.
